awe [aw]
n., v. awed, aw•ing. n. [1]
1. an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, fear, or wonder produced by that which is grand, sublime, extremely powerful, etc.
2. Archaic. power to inspire fear or reverence.
From ancient Greek (aw- / awe- / awed- / awer-)
ἄω (to blow, to speak, to sing); [2] | ἀάω; to satisfy, to sat(iat)e [2]

The sound of breath caused by the pronunciation of the vowels Ah! (ἆ - ἅ - ἅ – ἅ!) and Oh! (ὤ – ὦ!), as interjections, expressing a feeling;
Related to (the Flow of) Water (ὕδωρ), Light (Eos / ἠώς, ἐώα, ἡ), Wind (air / ἀήρ) and God (Dias, Zeus), as Cosmos – Nature early worships on Earth; first forms (shouts) of human communication. [3]

“AWE” is inspired by Archaeology & Modern Media, while studying and expressing the fusion of Nature & Technology, having Speech as their dominant element. Acoustic (musical) instruments, analogue synthesizers, field recordings, pulses and ‘glitches’, blossom through various orbits and musical geographies (Acoustic /Psycho-acoustic, Avant-garde, Minimalism, Sound Art, Cosmic Music), and with Cinema & Ancient Drama as their core.

The album, with a total duration of 90 minutes, includes nine compositions by Anna Stereopoulou, as she created them for different collaborations in Film & Video Art, Art Radio /Podcasts, Visuals /Installations, etc., in Greece and abroad (2020-2022). “AWE” concludes with her Diptych Sound-Work, based on Mathematics, Code/s, Linguistics, Psychology, Architecture, Noise, Astrophysics / Astromythology and Pre-History (Cretan / Minoan – Aegean – Near Eastern civilizations).

The goal of “AWE” is the Highlighting and Deep & Active Listening of Sound, in Art and everyday life, but also the ‘amplifying’ of Listenings and Sound Installations, in Greece.
